As media plays such a large role in our everyday lives, there may be certain problems when attempting to record every piece of media I see/ use during the day. Therefore, I plan to document immediately after seeing/ using different types of media e.g. walking past and advertisement in the street, watching a film, using social media etc. Furthermore, this will practically be a diary of the media I will use throughout the course of three days.
Although, I am still unsure on the time/ duration I should note down for using particular pieces of media, for example, seeing an advertisement. Additionally, some challenges that may occur during this assignment may involve the frequent usage of certain pieces of media; for example, through mobile usage, we tend to flick between 2 - 6 social media apps within a short space of time, therefore it may be easier to put a total time spent on each app in my log, rather than document every individual time using them.
By the end of this assignment, I think I will be surprised by the large quantity of media encountered throughout the course of three days. Due to media being a massive powerful influence on the public, it appears more in our lives than we think. Additionally, I also believe that I am unaware of how much time I spend using social media, watching TV etc, as the 21st century possesses the most advanced appliances there has ever been. By the end of this assignment, I predict that myself and my course mates may be shocked at how often media takes place in our lives, as it comes in many different forms. This will also express which pieces of media I use the most and which don't play a large part in my life.
